Q1 Am I measuring and rewarding the right things? In other words, am I tracking my most important strategic contingencies? Am I encouraging the behaviors that will enable my organization to deliver on the required key capabilities?

That is – “How to encourage behaviors that enable your strategy?”

Q2 Does what I’m measuring inadvertently increase the risk of a control failure by stimulating unwanted behaviors such as artificial manipulation of the measured? If so, should I adjust the KPIs or can I use the other control systems, belief and boundary systems to effectively counter this risk?

That is – “How to avoid or control the risk of unwanted behaviors?”
